Nynke has a genuine passion for helping individuals and couplesovercome life’s challenges and foster more fulfilling connections. Her approach is holistic, relational, and humanistic—grounded in emotional insight, authenticity, and a strong belief in every person’s capacity for growth.
She is a strong advocate for creating a space where clients feel emotionally safe and comfortable, knowing this is essential for meaningful therapeutic work. She works closely and collaboratively with each client, tailoring her support to meet their unique goals and the specific reasons they are seeking therapy for, so they feel more equipped to navigate life’s difficulties. She draws on modalities such as Emotionally Focused Therapy(EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy(DBT), and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
Nynke has a particular interest in using the well-researched and effective approach of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with both individualsand couples, helping people explore emotional patterns, develop greater self-awareness, and nurture secure, meaningful relationships. Her experience working at Hakea and Casuarina prisons has given her a deep appreciation of the complexities surrounding incarceration and reintegration. She is especially passionate about supporting people transitioning from prison to life beyond incarceration, as well as guiding employees in the justice sector through the unique challenges they face at work.
Nynke works with clients aged 12 and up and supports a wide range of aspects, including emotional resilience, increase distress tolerance, improve effective communication skills, assisting with interpersonal challenges, trauma, depressive and anxiety symptoms, and stress. She brings a compassionate, trauma and attachment-informed, and person-centred approach to her work, and is skilled at supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of concerns.
With experience across diverse settings—including private practice, the Department of Justice, the NDIS sector, and Lifeline WA—in both Australia and The Netherlands, she brings a culturally sensitive and person-centred lens to her work. Her work is inclusive of all humans and individual differences, and she is committed to providing a non-judgmental space where clients can feel seen, heard, and supported.
